Ahead of the UK release of The Founder – in cinemas Friday, 17th February – the good people at Studiocanal have provided us with a brand-new clip from the eagerly-anticipated biopic.
Starring Michael Keaton as Ray Croc, The Founder details one man’s infamous rise to global monopolisation after he franchises the small-town family burger joint, McDonald’s, into an enormous, dollar-consuming corporation. Cast alongside Keaton includes the likes of Laura Dern, Nick Offerman, John Carroll Lynch, and B.J. Novak, whilst the film is lensed by Saving Mr. Banks‘ John Lee Hancock.
The new clip – entitled “Concept of Winning” – sees Kroc explaining in painfully crushing detail how he devised an idea; one which would become a truly unstoppable fright train of financial force. Give it a spin below.
The Founder is a drama that tells the true story of how Ray Kroc (Keaton), a salesman from Illinois, met Mac and Dick McDonald, who were running a burger operation in 1950s Southern California. Kroc was impressed by the brothers’ speedy system of making the food and saw franchise potential. He maneuvered himself into a position to be able to pull the company from the brothers and create a billion-dollar empire.
Stay tuned for our official verdict of The Founder tomorrow, and be sure to catch the film in cinemas from 17th February.
