With the past weekend conjuring up one of the biggest upsets in British heavyweight boxing history, it seems rather apt that today we bring to you news of an upcoming movie focusing on the very sport. Boxing has seen somewhat of a resurgence in the past few years – no thanks to some stunning talent from British soils – and has always been a sport that transcends into the film industry with the greatest of results. With that in mind, we have news that True Romance producer Steve Perry and Director of Photography Jeffrey Kimball will be reuniting for the upcoming movie, Glass Jaw.
Directed by Jeff Celentano (Breaking Point), Glass Jaw is scheduled for release later this year and stars Lee Kholafai as boxer Travis Austin, a one-time boxing champion who finds himself in jail and losing everything. Looking to bounce back after his time behind bars, Austin soon looks to turn his life around by rediscovering his passion for the sport, redeeming his belt and – most importantly – winning back the love of his life, Dana Sasso (Korrina Rico).
Also attached to the project are Mark Rolston, Steven Williams, Vernon Wells, John Gries, Reynaldo Galego and Ashlee Macropoulos.
Keep a trained eye on Filmoria for more on the upcoming movie when we have it!
