It’s commonplace these days for most cinema-goers to always have their smart phone in tow. And in recent years, it has become the bane of many people who have expressed frustration by the disturbances caused by phone usage during screenings. With most cinemas and other venues being forced to display reminders during film showings to assure ticket holders that phones are encouraged to not be used.

Unfortunately, it is still a growing issue and it hasn’t shown much sign of slowing. But according to a Twitter user, Apple may be adding a brand new feature to their latest iOS update, which will reportedly enable iPhone users to conveniently and discretely use their phones – whilst limiting the disturbance and inconvenience of others (somehow, I personally can’t see it).

Sonny Dickson, a Tweeter who has often been associated with leaking Apple information, sent out the following regarding the new iOS 10.3 last Friday…

Of course, this is still only a rumour, with Apple yet to confirm if these rumours are accurate. However if this does turn out to be true, there will be many divisive opinions from big cinema chains, theatres and of course the film watching public. But it does appear to suggest that it may give the certain individuals more temptation and encouragement to send texts, play games or simply navigate on their phones.

The beta version of iOS 10.3 is due for release on January 10th 2017
