It looks as though Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt will share the limelight with two beautifully talented female counterparts in Mission: Impossible 6, as Vanessa Kirby, star of Netflix Original The Crown, is in final talks with Skydance and Paramount Pictures to join the beloved espionage franchise.

Kirby is set to work alongside Rebecca Ferguson and Cruise for the latest outing, which will be directed by Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation helmer Christopher McQuarrie. Both Jeremy Renner and Simon Pegg are also expected to return for the 2018-scheudled epic, and production is slated to get underway in the coming months.

If you are yet to watch The Crown, we wholeheartedly recommend you change that. It is an absolutely sublime work, laden with excellent dialogue, performances, and immaculate set and costume design. Kirby plays Queen Elizabeth II’s (Claire Foy) younger sister, Princess Margaret, and will reprise the role for the second season, due in November.
